Process Behind the Lens

So now that your cheeks are hurting from all the smiling, you are wondering, "What happens next & when do I get to see my pictures?" This is where I start my editing process, which is the more time consuming part of my photography... which will explain my Sessions - "Up to 2 Weeks" or Weddings - "Up to 12-16 Weeks" turn around time. : )

As I am snapping away with my happy trigger finger, I never am thinking of the mass amount of photos I will be going through when I get home. That thought comes as I face the many photos on my computer screen. And so it begins...

FIRST, I make a backup of all your photos, good or bad, on disk. This will ease my mind {& yours} that if my computer decides to have issues, I will still have the raw files to work with.

SECOND, I go through every single photo & zoom {super zoom.} to see the crispness. If any photo is not in focus, out it goes. Now, this is where some people can get a bit miffed. They want to see every photo, just in case there is one they want, even if it isn't up to my crispness standards. Remember, you are paying me for my creativity & professional knowledge... if it is a {BLAH} photo, I am not going to offer it to you. Do know that I will offer you plenty of AMAZING photos.

THIRD, I start the flawless editing. Once again, super zoom comes into play which helps me fix any blemishes you may have & anything in the scenery that isn't working {people, cars, etc..} for me. Then, I give it a boost of  life & style. I do this with every photo, no batch editing here!

FOURTH, I put the ball in your court. I post all these photos I worked on & send you the link. You download the digital photos that came in your package of choice & pick your prints.

FIFTH, I order your prints.

SIXTH, I package your goods.

SEVENTH, is my clients favorite part! I either will mail or meet up with you to give you the goods!

There it is... the process after the camera stops! Every session & wedding is important to me, therefore I never take short cuts during my editing. Hopefully the turn around time won't seem so bad knowing what happens after your session/wedding.
